One of the side trips during our visit to Luoyang was the Peony Festival. Here are a few pictures.
Unfortunately, it had rained heavily the previous couple of days so the flowers weren't in very good condition. You had to look around to find good specimens.
No wide shots of of all the flowers.
Maybe these are a peony cousin. The leaves look similar.
I think they call this the black peony. Not exactly black but pretty dark.
These ladies seemed to be enjoying their afternoon out.
This vendor was just outside the peony display. We didn't try any but they looked pretty good.
They had flowers for sale, also. These will last a very long time. They are fake.
